Sydney's Day

Thanks to the show, Jon and Kate Plus 8, I stole a tradition that they have with their kids. What is it? When each kid gets a day to spend with Mommy and Daddy sometime during the year. Well, I don't have a brood like they, but my 3 definately need some QT time w/ their madre and padre so I decided why not start this in the new year!

Since Morgan had a playdate/sleepover at her cousins I took that opportunity to use Jan 10th as Sydney's day. Each month a different child will get a month and I also incorporated Neal and I to have a day to ourselves too, why not?!

Sydney was excited to have her "special" day and she was so sweet, she wanted her little brother to join in on the fun. I told her that it was HER special day, but she would have nothing of the sort..."I want Colton to come to on my special day!" So, what could I do? (having a babysitter would help too!)

She picked BOWLING! We haven't done that in a while and it was so much fun watching her bowl. Thanks to her, my score was higher (thanks bumpers!!) Every time her turn went she would jump up and say "Woo-Hoo"...it was too cute. Colton just sat there in his stroller watching all of us play. Then after bowling it was off to eat dinner. She just wanted a place that made macaroni and cheese and also requested Applebee's. While sitting at our table she looked out the window and saw Home Depot and said she wanted to go there next. WHAT ON EARTH FOR? Of course that perked Neal's ear and off we went to Home Depot! LOL

She had a good day and I will have to say that it was also my "special" day because I got to be reminded of each of my children's individual quirks and what makes them just so darn cute!
