Love watching the kids

Now that Colton is mobile...and he's getting faster everyday...it's so nice to sit outside (since the weather is just beautiful) and watch the kids play outside and ride their bikes and watch them run around. I got to take some shots of Colton walking on the driveway with this little toy he got for Xmas. He made a detour a couple of times into the garage and I found him on the step of Morgan's 4wheeler!! YIKES!! He made some "mmm-mmm" sound and I knew that he wanted a ride. hahaha Well, no, he didn't get a ride, just got to sit on the bike for a little. He's seen how it's done because he automatically put his hands on the handlebars! He even made a notion that he wanted up in the RZR, but I didn't put him up there.

And today, during naptime, Sydney had her own ideas of nap. She decided to get out all her dress-up clothes and found a doctor's outfit. She then comes to me and says that she is wearing this to pick up Morgan. And also asked if she could just "rest" instead of nap. Now look how cute she is...I couldn't say NO!

Oh to be a kid again!!

Sa-la-vee to Soccer

Well, soccer season is now over. It officially ended today before noon. :( The kids had a rough past couple of weeks playing and teammates not showing up. GRRR!!! Teamwork, commitment and discipline are the key factors but how can you do any of these when some players don't show up?

Yesterday Morgan had 2 games and they lost. They were so whooped. She has 6 other players on the team and a total of 3 (that's including her) showed up for the 2nd game. Talk about some tired kiddos!!

Today, only 4 showed up. No substitutions...just hard core playing. And let me tell you, they did AWESOME!!! I am so proud of these guys. They played hard and everything that they learned from the entire season came into play. Shots on goal (good ones), assisting, passing, far throw-ins...you name it! VERY PROUD of the Green Machines!!! :) They won 4-0 too!!! They sure needed that!

So, now that soccer is over...what to do now?

Look what little man did yesterday!

I can't believe that Colton is trying to walk already! I know that he is one, but it just boggles my mind that this little man is walking!! It's exciting and crazy all at once! Just watching him explore and get a kick out of what he is up to is so neat! Fun days are ahead.

You will have to scroll down to the my music and click PAUSE in order to see this video and hear it. If you don't want to hear anything, just turn volume off on your computer. Video DOES NOT need volume if you don't want to.

Enjoy!

Happy Birthday Colton!

Well, this weekend was so jam packed and lots of fun!

Saturday was our little man's 1st bday, Valentine's day, and soccer extravaganza!!!

I had made cupcakes the night before for all the guests to Colt's bday party, which was after the soccer games. His theme was frogs of course, the poor boy has a room full of them and well, he loves them, so why not a bday party with them too!

I also made some baggies for the kids for Vday. I was inspired by a member of TipJunkie. The version I saw was a tote that hung behind a chair (I believe that Pottery Barn makes them) and I thought, well, I would like to start a tradition for the kids besides the usual candy and cards. So I bought 3 fabric totes from Michael's, some foam sheets, a wooden letter per each kid, paint, some ribbon, wooden hearts and some sticky glittery foam hearts. Then I just had fun decorating each bag and viola! In it were yummy candies and of course a card. Colt's wasn't filled only because it's his first Vday (and birthday mind you...LUCKY DUCK!) and well, he just doesn't need candy yet, in my opinion!

Then we were off to the soccer games. My mom had come the day before so she was a ton of help while I ran around like a chicken at home getting things together for after the games. I HAD to see my girls play soccer. It was Sydney's last game and well, if you saw her play, you would say she runs "like a girl"! hahaha Well, for her last game she actually got into the game and was in there with the rest of the kids kicking the ball! I was so proud of her! She wasn't just a "benchwarmer!" I could tell she was proud of herself too! After the game they received medallions for playing. I thought that was very nice! She loved it...she called it her "Golden". What a cutie!

Morgan also had a soccer game going on at the same time as Sydney's....see why I was running around? Her game was good and the team won!! They had a 2nd game scheduled but she wasn't able to make that because of her brother's bday. But that was okay. The next day, Sunday, was full of soccer!!!

At the park, where the party was held, we had a pavillion that I thought was going to be ours. Well, we had to share it with another bday, but that was fine. The kids didn't mind, they were out on the playground for the most of it. Colton enjoyed walking his little toy and just being a ham!! We ordered pizza...MMMMM...and Colton thought so too!!! He ate like a monster that boy!! What a cutie!

Then of course came the cake!! Hahaha The mustlooked at (dreaded by mother's because of the mess) cake! Just something simple. A chocolate cake (messier the better) with a lily pad and his favorite squeaky toy frog on the top. He wasn't sure what was going on and he kept eyeing the cupcakes because he devoured one a couple days prior. But, he eventually dug into the cake. What a mess!!

He had a great day and it was a quiet, close turnout. Just family and friends. He loved the swing at the park and every last gift he received. It was a good day!

Sunday, we spent the entire day at the park watching 3 games of soccer. Our butts were numb and the poor kids got a GREAT workout!! They didn't win, but that's okay. Going to do this again this Saturday for a 2nd tournament. Is soccer ever going to end?

Colton is such a cutie!

Well, tomorrow is a big day in our house. NO, not because it's Valentine's Day, it's because our little man is turning 1!! I can't believe a year has come and gone so quickly. He's such a little ham/cutie and it's so sad that he's not an infant anymore. :(

Here are some photos of him this week. Neal and I decided it was time to cut his hair (again) and this time give him a mohawk!! hahaha Well, he didn't do so well like he did the first round of cutting. He's so scared of the clippers! I had to hold the booger down while Neal buzzed away. You can see the snotty nose and tears in this picture.

Then on Wednesday I gave Colton a cupcake, one from the batch I made Sydney's class, and he devoured it. It was so funny. Now when he looks at his hand he is reminded of the mess he had of chocolate icing on his hand and says "uck-ca-ca". It's too cute!

I'll have more pictures after this weekend. Hope the bday turns out good!

Composure

Not having any internet service or phone service sucks!!! It was only for about 2 days, but you don't realize how much you rely on those things when you DO have it.

All I know is that someone in some office building ticked me off Thursday morning b/c they basically told me I had no service still because I failed to call for a tech (a 2nd time) to come out! UM...no, work order was put in, time was given, instructions were given to call me if they couldn't make it and NO ONE called ME about not being able to show up when they were supposed to.

Then they had to "work" around my schedule which didn't seem to please the support rep. ATTITUDES flying off the other end of the phone and composure by me (even though my face was probably turning red, blood pressure was boiling and irritation was settling in), with a big smile as I talked and kept slow breathing. If you were a fly on the wall you would of thought I was an original "Bree Hodge" from Desperate Housewives. Those that know me know that I don't like confrontation and it takes a lot for me to just step up to the plate and just burst out what I'm really feeling. Not on this day! I had no problem doing so...in a tactful way!

Well...I'm glad that I have both services and that I get to blog. Hope that tomorrow (oh wait...it's already tomorrow as I post this) is better! It has to...it's Friday! :)

Surprise...we're on Dream Street!

Last night when I was checking out my message board I got a message from a member that one of my kits was listed on a manufactures blog. I can't remember for the life of me if I had told Dream Street that I was using their papers for a card kit. Well, however it occured...I checked out the site http://dreamstreetpapers.blogspot.com/2009/02/february-kit-clubs.html and there it was!!! My February card kit!!! Woohoo!!

I'm just very happy to see it on a blog somewhere other than what I've posted!

****************************************

As for the home front...Neal is back home from his work trip to Pittsburgh. Back to the grind! Colton has caught a cold and can't beat the fevers. Grrr!! Took him to the docs yesterday and it's confirmed...just a cold! :( Poor baby. He's been waking up at 5am the past two nights. WHAT'S THAT ALL ABOUT? The kid has never woken up in the middle of the night since he was like a few weeks old! He's going backwards I say!

I went to Michael's yesterday and caved. I did it. I walked around the bead section (uh-oh) and I think I am in love!! The wheels in my head were on overload!!! hahaha It was like being in a candy store. So much to choose from and so many images going on in my head. What can I say, I have a heart for all things crafty!!! :) I asked the girls before dropping them off at school yesterday to pick any 2 colors. They had no clue why, but I had planned on making some jewelry with the colors they chose. Morgan told me PINK & GREEN and Sydney said BROWN & WHITE. Well, got the beads and the rest of the necessary tools and I have to find some time between putting the March kits together for the TMS store and making some Valentine's goodies for the kids and make me some necklaces. I hope that I don't flub it up! Well have to see. And once I do do them, I will be sure to post them on the blog!

Okay...gotta finish what I started...that's all for now!
